Sam Devereaux – Co-founder & Actor
Sam Devereaux is the co-founder of Flying Pickle. He is a third-generation actor and trained at Arts Educational Schools in London (Class of 2004). On graduating Sam toured the UK extensively for performing Shakespeare and musical theatre.
As part of Iron Lion Theatre Company, he has presented new work at the on the London fringe and Brighton Fringe theatre scene. His self-penned one man show, Good Time Charlies Got The Blues was nominated for Best Male Performance at the Brighton Fringe.
On screen, he has performed as an actor and voice over in several award-winning productions including Lushtown and Future Duck.
Sam’s first work on stage was not as an actor but as a singer. He grew up surrounded by musicians and performed in his first Rhythm and Blues revue at the age of just 15. At 18 he was lead vocalist with Hove’s renowned 90’s school band The Millstones. Later he appeared with many other revues as a sing and Blues Harp player including Glenn Hodge Banned and The Devotions.
From 2005-2015 he performed hundreds of concerts and toured the UK with his real-life brother JD King as one half of The Master Blues Brothers.
Since 2014, Sam has run his own professional recording studio. In that time, he has recorded hundreds of corporate, animation and video games voice overs both his own and those of other professional actors. He has also narrated and or produced over 85 audiobooks.
Flying Pickle represents Sam’s chance to bring all the strands of his artistic life together in a way that allows him to give back to the industry in which he has made his life.
