Georgie’s Training and Work in Theatre

Georgie trained in Stage Management at ALRA. After qualifying as a professional she began her theatre career in 1995. Initially, Georgie stage managed small scale tours around the UK. This meant she worked in many venues throughout the 1990s. These included Wimbledon Theatre and several in the West End. During this time she branched out from Stage Management into Technical Theatre. This took Georgie’s career in a new direction and in 2005 she joined Delfont Mackintosh Theatres Ltd. Once there, she worked her way up to Deputy Chief Electrician at The Novello Theatre in Covent Garden.

While at The Novello, Georgie worked on numerous critically acclaimed productions. These included A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet and The Tempest with The Royal Shakespeare Company. As well as these classical productions, Georgie also worked on a variety of other shows. Into The Hoods, The Drowsy Chaperone and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof were among the most successful.

In 2009 Georgie was promoted to Chief Electrician of The Noel Coward Theatre and worked on Calendar Girls and the award-winning Enron.
