Dickens’ Classic Tale performed to support 21&Co

This special charity production of the Christmas classic is presented as one-man-show by actor and Flying Pickle Head of Studio Sam Devereaux. Sam will use his experience as a theatre actor and audiobook narrator to bring the novella to life all by himself, just as Dickens himself once did. The venue is the wonderful Grade II listed Victorian Normansfield Theatre in Teddington, one of only two such theatres in private hands in the UK. The production is directed by Flying Pickle Head of Theatre, Georgie Devereaux.

Sam is performing to support 21&Co, a South West London charity devoted to supporting children living with Down’s syndrome and their families. The production will also benefit national charity and owner of the theatre the Downs Syndrome Association.

Our 2022 production opens on Saturday 17th December 2022 for two shows. Book your tickets and help support these amazing charities. Click on the button to book today.

The beautiful and haunting image of the Ghost of Christmas Past was created for this production by Flying Pickle’s resident fine artist Julia Kerrison.

About 21&Co

21&Co is a registered charity run by parents, offering help and support to children with Down’s syndrome and their families in South West London, Surrey and surrounding areas.

Finding out that your child has Down’s syndrome can be a shock. More often than not, the best emotional support comes from meeting other families with children with Down’s syndrome and sharing their experiences. Having the support of other parents and carers will help you learn about Down’s syndrome and what having a child with Down’s syndrome will mean for your family.

That’s why 21&Co was formed – to help children with Down’s syndrome but also their parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and other family members and friends.

The charity works hard to promote the opportunities open to children with Down’s syndrome, provide early development resources like social communication therapy and increase awareness, acceptance and understanding of Down’s syndrome in the local community.

21&Co families meet regularly to share their stories and to give each other advice, support and friendship, while the children have fun and build their confidence in a stimulating environment.

21&Co is a small local charity supporting about 250 families who have children with Down’s syndrome. We are so grateful to Sam Devereaux for putting on such a fantastic event for the benefit of our charity. It means so much to us and those we support. Not only will the fundraising help us continue offering our services, but the event will also raise awareness of our charity, Down’s Syndrome, and the wonderful children we support, which is invaluable. – Tatty Bowman, 21&Co Co-Chair
